ice cream sticks and satay stick base...
estimated calculation for you to make one yourself
2 pack ice cream stick - $2.00 (around 1.5 katanas)
1 pack 30cm satay stick - $ 2.00 (can make arnd 2 katanas)
1 pack 20cm satay stick - $ 1.00 (can make 2 to 3 katanas)
2 roll of scotch tape - $ 2.00 (more than enuff for 1 katana)
1 stapler gun - $ 10.00 (can last you for years)
staple bullet - $ 0.70 - 1 box (can make arnd 5 katanas)
1 roll aluminum tape - $10.00 (can make around 20 katanas)
wooden laminate tape - $15 (small roll type, for handle & tsuba)
wide transparent tape (for covering the blade's aluminum) - $1.20
flower cutter (cutting of wood) - $ 3
total around $ 46.90 (it's definitely over kill for one katana)
optional items:
stapler gun - $ 10 (use normal stapler, but more time consuming as the staplet might fail
to punch in, and need to redo)
laminate - $ 15 (u can use wrapping paper of simillar textures - around $0.50)
aluminum tape $ 10 (masking tape + chrome paint can replicate simillar, but not so shiny arnd $ 1.00 for tape and $7.00 for chrome paint)
cost after discarding optional items - $20.40
note: the tsuba you can use ice cream stick to make a base (then use mounting board in shape to sandwich
and seal off the edge with scotch tape, then spray paint)
itx amazing how cosplayer do out their weapons n costumes.. i m nt some1 hux willing to spend alot of $ n time on it. so, i'll stick to the simple 1s^^ but its been a long time since i last cosplay...
